Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has been arrested on DUI charges in Jupiter, Florida. The golfer was stopped by cops early Monday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was taken in around 3am and released from Palm Beach County Jail at 10:50am. You'll recall, when Tiger and then wife Elin Nordegren got into their blowout fight back in 2009, he hit a tree while allegedly driving under the influence of Ambien. He was not charged with DUI at the time.

The Wave Water Park

The much-anticipated debut of the $43 million water park “The Wave” in Dublin took a scary turn Saturday when a boy was launched from a three-story water slide, landing on the concrete exit next to the ride. The 10-year-old boy was “just shaken up” with a scratched shoulder that was treated by first aid. The photographer saw scratches on the boy’s back, before he walked away on his own power and was helped by a lifeguard and city employee shortly after noon Saturday. The ride had only been operating for 90 minutes. The park closed the Emerald Plunge slide after the incident indefinitely and spokeswoman Shari Jackman said they are “reevaluating that slide.” No police or fire were called to the scene, park officials said, because the parents declined and were going to have the boy checked out on their own.

Car Backs Into A River

A passer-by saved a female driver who accidentally backed her car into a river last Thursday in Taicang city, east China's Jiangsu Province. Surveillance footage shows a white car backing into a parking lot in an automotive parts factory but then suddenly reversing at high speed through a fence stretching along the river. The river water was more than three meters deep and the car was sinking. The driver climbed out of the car's sunroof and called for help. An employee of the factory named Li Jiabo was the first to come to her rescue. A weak swimmer, Li not only failed to save the driver but also got himself into danger. At that time, a passer-by across the river jumped into the water to help them. The young man first dragged the exhausted Li onto the river bank then saved the driver with the help of the crowd. Local police identified the Good Samaritan as Huo Junwei, 27, and said they hoped to offer him an award.
