March 24th, 1975 - Lynyrd Skynyrd

On this date in 1975, Lynyrd Skynyrd released their 3rd studio album Nuthin' Fancy.

-Nuthin' Fancy reached #9 on the Billboard 200 Top LP's chart.
-The single "Saturday Night Special" hit #27 on the Billboard Hot 100.
-Nuthin' Fancy  was certified Gold on 6/27/1975 and Platinum on 7/21/1987 by the RIAA.
Lynyrd Skynyrd cranked out albums at a brisk rate during its original line-up's brief recording career, averaging at least one new release per year. 1975 saw the emergence of Skynyrd's third album in as many years, Nuthin' Fancy.
-This was the first Lynyrd Skynyrd record with drummer Artimus Pyle and the last with guitarist Ed King until the reformation of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the release of Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991.
